CREG respects your privacy and ensures the confidentiality of the personal data you share with it.

When you contact CREG, some of your data is collected and processed. If such data can be used to identify you, this is "personal data".

The controller for processing such personal data is Belgian Federal Commission for Electricity and Gas Regulation (abbreviated to CREG), Rue de l’Industrie 26-38, 1040 Brussels.

The personal data processed by CREG, the purposes of processing such data, with whom they may be shared, and your rights are detailed below.

CREG guarantees the fair and lawful processing of your personal data. It takes the appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure an adequate level of security.

Data that you send by using the CREG website

Sharing your personal data

The personal data that you share with CREG when completing the forms available on our website may be used by our sub-contractors, such as our web agency. CREG signs the necessary agreements with these sub-contractors to ensure the protection of your personal data.

Personal data that you share with CREG via the contact form may be sent to other organisations such as VREG, CWaPE, BRUGEL, the FPS Economy or the Federal Energy Mediation Service, if the subject falls within their remit. These organisations are subject to the same legal requirements in terms of protecting personal data.

Your rights

  • You are entitled to access your personal data.
  • You are entitled to rectify and erase your personal data.
  • You are entitled to restrict the processing of your personal data.

You can exercise these rights at any time, by sending a message to dataprotection@creg.be or by letter to CREG, General Affairs Directorate, Data Protection, Rue de l’Industrie, 26-38, 1040 Brussels.

However, you do not have the right to erase your personal data when they were collected by CREG in execution of its legal obligations.

You can also lodge a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data to the Belgian Privacy Commission (https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be).

Modification of our privacy policy

CREG reserves the right to modify this privacy policy in order to comply with the obligations set out by privacy legislation or with the aim of adapting it to its practices. The user is consequently invited to consult the privacy policy regularly in order to take note of any modifications or adaptations.
